Rush Pikes Peak Soccer Club

Rush Pikes Peak Soccer Club's local REACH club, Southeast Springs Soccer Initiative (SeSSI), has received a grant from Catholic Health Initiatives through Penrose-St. Francis Hospital to continue its violence prevention efforts through soccer. Included in this grant are funds for a part-time SeSSI Director, which will be hired through Rush Pikes Peak and housed at Second Chance Through Faith in Southeast Colorado Springs. This grant money will help SeSSI continue to impact the community in a positive way through youth soccer teams, clinics for local children, and summer soccer kickarounds like the ones being run throughout the summer at local community parks.

SeSSI has also partnered with the Colorado Rapids Youth Soccer Club to implement an after-school program called "Soccer for Success". This national program is run by US Youth Soccer and is a free soccer program that promotes health, fun, and learning through soccer for youths in elementary and middle school. For more information about Soccer for Success, click here.

Finally, the US National Team Supporters Group American Outlaws has a "Buy 1, Give 1" program that allows individuals to directly support SeSSI through soccer ball donation. For every soccer ball purchased at the American Outlaws online store, one soccer ball will be donated to SeSSI to be re-shared throughout the Southeast Springs community.

For information about how to get involved with SeSSI, please contact Matt Stelmaszek at [email protected] or Sarah Sherwin at [email protected].
