Join Rush Pikes Peak at Make Your Own Ball Day, March 28 at Discovery Park from 12 - 2 pm.
Bring a soccer ball made out of non-traditional materials as well as a normal soccer ball for donation to Tijuana, Mexico.
Players will play barefoot small-sided games with the homemade soccer balls, enjoy a combination lunch for $5, and support the mission of Make Your Own Ball Day (MYOBD) to promote and support the passion of kids for sports, using soccer as a platform for change. MYOBD envisions a world where every kid - regardless of living conditions - has the tools and power to play.
How to make a ball
Use any materials that are soft enough to kick with a bare foot to make a ball of any size. Players and parents can make the ball together before the event.
How to donate a ball
This event will impact the Rush Pikes Peak community of players and parents as well as communities beyond. All attendees should bring a new or used soccer ball to donate to a child in a community where circumstances have not allowed him/her to have one before.
