What is the Intermediate branch?

This program is divided into two levels, the Intermediate and Youth Academy Programs.

The Intermediate level is for any U9/U10 player that wants to compete. Players are grouped by geographic location and ability. Teams will train 1-2 times per week with their volunteer coach and once with their Director of Coaching and play games in the Colorado Youth Soccer League. Teams play an 8 - 9 game season; half of the games will be played at home (
 The Rush Complex
) and half will be played as away games (Denver, Castle Rock, Pueblo etc.). Teams play 7 versus 7 in the Intermediate program.

Registration Fee: $225 per season.

Practices

Practices are split into two 45 minute sections. Tyler will split the players into 2 groups. Group 1 will be inside the gym with the strength coaches (lead coach is Rachel Roberts) while Group 2 will be working with Coach Matt Saul  on the turf field. After 45 minutes the groups will make a quick switch. Group 1 will head outside, quickly put their cleats on and complete their soccer segment and group 2 will quickly put on their tennis shoes and head into the gym.

PLEASE MAKE SURE EVERY PLAYER HAS A CHANGE OF SHOES, THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO BE BARE FOOTED OR WEAR CLEATS INSIDE THE GYM, PLEASE MAKE SURE OUR PLAYERS ARE PREPARED.

What is Rush Soccer and Rush Pikes Peak all about?

Rush Soccer is committed to providing an unparalleled soccer experience for all who have an interest in the game of soccer. Rush promotes the spirit of sportsmanship, the electricity of competition and the importance of pure enjoyment. Rush accepts the responsibilities of teaching life lessons to our athletes to further their development inside the game and out. Rush is committed to making soccer a pleasant, safe and rewarding experience for everyone involved, regardless of age or ability. We believe that all players are winners because everyone is afforded an equal opportunity to explore their potential and pursue positive outcomes on and off the field. Through quality coaching, sound leadership and absolute sincerity, the Rush will work to be the best club in the state, nation, and world.

We are excited to get going with our DOC practices for the Fall season. We have a very special relationship with the NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association) that allows to incorporate technical soccer training with a program that is designed to help our young athletes learn how to move correctly that will help them reach their athletic potential (any sport) and apply techniques that will help with Injury prevention.

NSCA Goals with Rush players

CORE VALUES

Please the below link to see our Rush Core Values. We want our players to understand that as rush players, we try our very best to adhere to the 11 core values that we share with every player within our clubs (Domestic and International). We will talk about some of these core values at practices, games or any other rush event. I ask that you go through this document and talk about these traits with your children, so they can know what they are and have some kind of understanding of what they mean and why they are important. As our players get older, they will start to understand each one more with more detail. But, this is a great age to start introducing these ideas and character traits.

EXPECTATIONS

We are training on the grounds of the NSCA and we require that our players display our Rush Core Values (Respect being most important, this is one they hopefully understand). I think we have a great bunch of kids in our club and we are proud that they are part of our club, but with that being said, they are children and no doubt will have to be reminded to be respectful to all of the coaches working with them at this and every event they attend. We do not anticipate having to sit a child out but please be aware, if any player is preventing others from learning or being safe, then we will sit them down and prevent them from taking part. If this behavior continues, then it may result in not allowing that player to return. It has never happened and we certainly do not anticipate it, but please be aware.

Parents, the NSCA has asked that you don't go into the gym area while the kids are working, there is a reception area where you can wait, but you are welcome to be outside on the edge of the turf and watch the soccer portion.
