New Office Location in Mr. Biggs Family Fun Center.  We are now located in the southeast corner of Mr. Biggs.  Please drive into the south parking and continue east past the loading docks.  Enter the door past the docks and we are the first offices on the right.
New Inclement Weather Line.  For inclement weather, please call (719) 222-1030.  On weekends, the message will be updated by 7:30 am.  On weekdays, the message will be updated by 2:00 pm.  Please note that because of Colorado Springs' geographical location, our weather can change very quickly.  Thus, the message could be updated several times throughout the day to reflect weather changes.  If the message has not been updated, games and practices will take place as scheduled.

College Night a Huge Success

 

Monday night’s Rush Pikes Peak College Advisory Program meeting Fall ‘06 was a huge success with a great turn out and an extremely informative session.  Well over 100 people turned out to get advice and information from college coaches, current college players and past college and professional players.

 

Dan Highstead, DOC Seniors and CAP Director, hosted the evening with guest speakers, Larry Friend of the US Air Force Academy, and Erik Oman, former Colorado College Head Coach were joined by three current Colorado College players.

 

The night walked players through some of the decisions that they will be facing in a search for a program that suits their needs on soccer, personal and lifestyle level.  There was advice on how and why you should make choices backed by the experiences of the players on the panel.

 

The meeting also gave advice on how to contact coaches, how to get seen, how to prepare your resume and the do’s and don’ts of getting recruited.

 

The club has set up a computer and time slots for you to come to the Rush office and get individual attention on contacting coaches, so we can help in anyway we can to help you reach your goals.

7v7 Tournament

The Rush 7v7 Tournament is a seasonal event conducted to give all the players in the club a chance to play with and against other players within their age group in a fun environment. Players are randomly selected to different teams of 7 or 8, and given about five minutes to choose a team captain and team name, immediately forcing the kids to start interacting with unfamiliar players and coming together as quickly as possible. The teams are then put into a tournament setting playing as many as five games against all the other teams. The tournament is a fun event, where the players have a chance to play different positions, make new friends and build club camaraderie.

 

The Pikes Peak Rush 7v7 Fall 06 Tournament will take place October 29th at Bear Creek Park.  Please see the schedule below.  All competitive teams within each age group will attend their scheduled date/time as listed below. This is a great opportunity to get together with other players within your own age group and play.  Coaches would like to see players step outside of their comfort zone and have fun with this. It is a great chance to play with players that you are not familiar with, play different positions, and especially enjoy the competition! 

 

Remember there is a $10 participation fee to cover the Bear Creek Park field rental.   

 

This activity takes precedence over team and staff training sessions. There is minimal coaching during this tournament. There will be no referees; players will call their own fouls. Players will be randomly assigned to different teams. All players are to wear white shirts and black shorts to the tournament. Arrive 15 minutes prior to your start time. Team coaches and assistant coaches are to attend the tournament. For questions please contact Lee Slater at 719-590-9977 x106 or e-mail at [email protected]

The Keep It Up Club Needs New T-Shirts!!
 The Juggling Club gives T-Shirts to players that reach 100 juggles (white), 250 juggles (gray), and 500 juggles (navy blue).  These shirts also have a slogan on the back, currently it is “Can you Keep It Up?”.  Send your designs to [email protected], or to the Rush office (5825 Mark Dabling Blvd. Colorado Springs, CO 80919 Attention Heather Pedersen).  A winner will be chosen by staff coaches, please have your designs in by October 19, 2006.

The winner will receive a free t-shirt regardless of their personal number of juggles, and have their name posted on the Juggling Club website! 

REQUIREMENTS 
Somewhere on the shirt there must be:

  • Rush Pikes Peak

  • Juggling Club/Keep It Up

  • Number of juggles the shirt represents (100, 250, 500)

  • A NEW slogan

  • Name of designer (Example: Designed by Billy Joe), optional

FYI - You will be competing with players, as well as coaches!

G13 Nike win the 2006 Colorado Open

The G13 Nike team have had a great start to the 2006 Fall season. Winning their first two league games the girls entered the Colorado Open high in confidence. After an average start with two 1-1 draws, they needed a convincing shut out win to give them a chance of advancing. A 4-0 win completed the task and saw them squeak in as the wild card the following weekend.

 

The Semi-finals saw them take an early lead against Real Olympico and finish the game up 2-1 winners and march on to the final vs. Colorado Rush Swoosh. Another early goal put them in the driving seat and with a solid game from start to finish the girls finished up winners and with the title of Colorado Open Champions. The win also guarantees them a place in the 2007 State Cup to be held next spring.

 

Congratulations girls, and good luck for the rest of the season.

Pikes Peak Invitational a Huge Success

The 31st Annual Pikes Peak Invitational Tournament was a huge success again this year, with over 75 out of state teams joining the Colorado teams for a week long event held at the US Air Force Academy. The weather was mainly kind, the fields in lush conditions and the level of play as high as ever.

 

A big thank you goes out to all the teams that participated, volunteers that worked tirelessly to keep the tournament running smoothly and eveyone that was involved in a great week of soccer.

Disney Showcase Awards and Technical Report
The inaugural US Club Soccer Club Championships held April 12th -16th at Disneyworld Florida saw mixed fortunes for Rush Soccer, but the overriding success was the coming together of players from Rush Clubs across the country, a great experience and a demonstration of the camaraderie that comes from being part of Rush Soccer.  Click here to read more.
