RULES INTERPRETATIONS
THROW-INS VS. KICK-INS
The Rush Developmental Coaches are teaching the U5-U8 players throw-ins
instead of kick-ins.
DEFENSIVE/OFFENSIVE TACTICS (3V3 AND 4V4)
No player shall be allowed to stand in the box as a defensive or offensive
tactic. The Rush Developmental Coaches have been instructed that the use
of sweepers or stoppers is allowed, however, players should not stand
in the box as a defensive tactic. Should a player consistently stand in
the box, referees are asked to tell the player to move out of the box.
Defenders are not required to move into the offensive half of the field
after the ball has been cleared out of the defensive half. (We want the
kids to score goals, but not to use unfair tactics to score them or prevent
them from being scored).
VERBAL INSTRUCTIONS TO PLAYERS
When play stops due to out of bounds or the blowing of the whistle, please
inform the players what the re-start is (goal kick, corner kick, throw-in,
etc.), or what they did wrong (pushing, tripping, hand ball, etc.), so
that they can learn as they play.
