APPLICATION DEADLINE: MARCH 15, 2005!

In 2005 the Pikes Peak Invitational Soccer Tournament will celebrate its 30th birthday! A tournament for premier teams, this event has hosted more than 5,000 teams and 100,000 players from almost all of the 50 states since its inception. For more than 20 years its site has been the incomparable athletic fields of the United States Air Force Academy. Twenty-one beautifully manicured grass fields, located on three terraces, are set against a backdrop of Rocky Mountains and clear blue sky. All fields are 75 yds wide and range in length from 110 yds. to 125 yds.

The 2005 PPI will have a new format. Starting on Monday, 7/18 there will be a College Showcase for teams U15-U19. The U16-U19’s will play a 3-day format with two matches per day and semi-finals and finals occurring on Wednesday, 7/20. The U15’s will play a 4-day format with semi-finals and finals on Thursday 7/21. U12’s-U14’s will play a 4-day format commencing on 7/21 and ending on Sunday, 7/24. The U11’s will play a 3-day format starting on Friday, 7/22 and ending on Sunday, 7/24.

Teams are guaranteed four regulation-length games. They are seeded according to strength and geographic balance. Every effort is made to provide opponents from a variety of areas. In addition, teams are allowed to modify their league rosters and bring six guest players. Besides keen soccer competition, participants can also enjoy the many tourist opportunities, like white-water river rafting and trips to the top of Pikes Peak.

Each team is required to post a $250.00 bond that will be returned at the tournament site following the completion of all scheduled games for that team. The registration fee is $700.00 for all teams.
